In the Republic of Palau, we began to noticed massive bleaching in late August
and early September of this year.  By October, the white spots everywhere around
Palau were hard to be ignored.  Everyone were asking what is going on with the
corals.  Two weeks ago, we went out and most of the corals are now covered with
algae, but we could still see few bleaching.  It looks like the ones that were
not effected in ealry September are now bleached.  This bleaching is the worst
that I have seen in our area.  Everything looks dead.  There are spots of areas
of corals that are coming back, but for the most part- is dead.
