Bleaching in Philippines The coral bleaching situation here in Cebu is ranging from less than 20% affected corals up to more than 90% dead. We keep on gathering data to answer the question where is the point-of-no-return for bleached corals, even when the temperature is dropping. We figured that the El Nino effects outcompete by far the reef destruction of certain destructive fishing methods. More is still to come.
