High-Resolution Sea Surface Temperature
The current operational Coral Reef Watch product suite has a resolution
of 50 kilometers, meaning that the data are presented in pixels that are
50-km square. This will be improved upon in the next few years, with
experimental products at resolutions as fine as 1-km.

Coral Reef Watch's partners in Australia are providing experimental daily high-resolution (2-km) sea surface temperatures and bleaching risk for the Great Barrier Reef region, off the north-east coast of Australia.
Collaboration on products like this helps Coral Reef Watch prepare for the next generation of NOAA's operational Sea Surface Temperature product, which blends data from several polar-orbiting and geostationary satellites.
