Degree Heating Weeks icon Now, Google Earth can be used to view NOAA Coral Reef Watch's satellite coral bleaching monitoring products. Our products available for Google Earth are listed in the tables above. For most of our Google Earth products, users can display them in Google Earth on their computers by a simple mouse click. No software installation is needed (except for the Google Earth software). For our online-version Google Earth products, internet access is required to bring the images onto Google Earth for display. For our offline-version products, users can download complete packages containing both program files and then images and the products can be displayed without live internet connection. See the instructions below for how to display our products on Google Earth.

Instructions:
1) Download and install Google Earth on your computer. Google Earth is free and available at http://earth.google.com/. For the Coral Reef Watch products posted on this page, Google Earth Plus and Google Earth Pro are not required.
2) Some of our products are available as an online-version and some as an offline-version. See (a) or (b) below for corresponding instructions.

3) In the 'Place' panel on the left side of the Google Earth window, find the Coral Reef Watch product folder under 'Temporary Places.' Open the product folder by clicking on the right-facing arrow next to it to view the subfolders and data layers. Click on the box(es) next to the desired subfolder(s) and data layer(s) to display them in the earth viewing window. We recommend that only one Coral Reef Watch monitoring product data layer be displayed at a time. Click here to see a sample.
4) Click on the name of a Coral Reef Watch product folder in the 'Place' panel to view the detailed description of the product. Click here to see a sample.
